3 words to describe your wedding style?

Elegant, Glamourous, Unique

How long have you been planning weddings and how did you realize this was what you wanted to make a career out of?

I was working on corporate events within the Sports Marketing field and in the non-profit sector for 8 years prior to falling in love with the social events world. I found my passion for weddings when I was planning my friends wedding and then a year later, planning my own wedding. I loved everything about the process and I especially loved styling and collaborating with amazing companies such as Fancy Face Inc. Although I am passionate about all aspects of wedding planning, I especially love executing a wedding to perfection on one of the most special days of a person’s life.

Favourite part of being a wedding planner?

Working with individuals in such a close manner. I truly become friends and care about all of my clients and their families. I love being around people and working with different personalities. Every couple has their own story and their own individual style and I love catering to them and helping make the wedding planning process truly unique and stress-free .  I am constantly receiving update emails and messages from past couples who are now having babies.. it’s honestly my favourite part of the job.

Most memorable moment of your career?

The most memorable moment was the conclusion of my first wedding. The first wedding I was hired for was actually a big, lavish affair. There were over 350 guests with many amazing surprises and entertainment aspects. From aerialist performances to bongo drummers to many little details that I had to remember…. It was honestly such an amazing experience working on such a grand event and it literally went off flawlessly. The clients were SO extremely happy with the everything. The special feeling I received once everything was done… was a feeling I will never forget. I felt extremely accomplished and I was immediately excited for my next wedding! I have that feeling with  every wedding I plan and it keeps me excited for all of my future events. I think that is why our clients are so happy with us.. they know we really care about them and the outcome of their special day.

What sets you apart from other planners?

I think my experience in the corporate and non profit events world helps set me apart from other planners. I worked on events that consisted of over 5000 participants and that has given me the confidence to take on any event. I also worked as a CFL cheerleader for the Toronto Argonauts Football Team. As a cheerleader, I had the opportunity to attend many unique, over the top events. These experiences have allowed me to bring a new element to my clients’ affairs.

Many weddings planners are working as planners on a part-time basis. I have been doing wedding planning full time for a number of years and have gone to school for business, marketing and event planning. I have also trained through the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada achieving an accreditation and I continue to study and attend conferences to be on top of the new trends for my clients.

Lastly, we recently opened up a strorefront space for Fab Fête Event Planning Boutique. I think this really helps set us apart from other planners. We have the opportunity to meet clients in the space to show them the new wedding trends. We also give our clients the opportunity to meet other vendors in our space for ease and comfort.
