Evening Skincare Routine

Brittany Gray takes us step by step through her evening skincare routine

I wanted to take a few minutes to lead you step by step through my evening skincare routine. It’s simple, feels great and can easily be used in the morning as your daytime routine, as well!

STEP ONE

Starting off with the Kirkland Signature Cleansing Towelettes, give your face a gentle clean, then follow up with an eye makeup remover. Bioderma Cleansing Makeup Remover is my go-to, and you can use it on your eyes as well as the rest of your face for an extra thorough cleanse to be sure you get all of that makeup off!

STEP TWO

At times, a cleanse can leave your skin feeling dry. To combat this, I use a face mist, either the Mario Badescu Rosewater Spray or the Jowae Hydrating Water Mist. They both have awesome hydrating properties and are charged with antioxidants. Hold the mist back from your face and spritz! Then, let it set and dry.

STEP THREE

Next up, Nip and Fab Glycolic Pads. Glycolic acid is excellent for exfoliation and will help give you back some of your natural glow by helping to slough off dead skin cells. It give you that post-facial radiance and feels great. Once a day is enough for the glow, you don’t want to dry out your skin.

STEP FOUR

Time for those eyes! I love Laneige Water Bank Eye Gel. It is a seriously awesome product and you get a lot of bang for your buck – these guys don’t skimp the way some eye creams do. It feels like your eyes are literally drinking water and it doesn’t leave any cakey residue. Just use your fourth finger and pat the gel around the eyes. Be sure not to tug or pull as the skin under your eyes is extremely thin. Don’t go creating wrinkles that mother nature didn’t put there already!

STEP FIVE

Moisturize that beautiful face. Another amazing Laneige product is their Water Bank Hydrating Gel Cream Moisturizer. Lightweight and perfect for summer, just gently pat it into your skin. Don’t forget to moisturize your neck and chest as that lovely skin ages overtime, just as your face does. If you’re curious about what moisturizers work well underneath makeup, I’d recommend the Glossier Priming Moisturizer, which is an affordable, buildable, hydrating moisturizer that doesn’t create a lot of shine the way an oil would.

STEP SIX

If you’re feeling particularly dehydrated, incorporating an oil into your evening routine can be quite beneficial. The Radiance Face Oil by Eve Lom is fabulous. A couple of drops on my fingers to apply or adding it to my foundation during the day is great, and you can also press it into the skin on top of your moisturizer, which I love doing at night. The Dual Layer Face Oil is also a great product and is fragrance free. One thing I do notice is when I apply this oil underneath my makeup (which I’d suggest only for those with dry or normal skin) it really adds this lovely radiance.

STEP SEVEN

Not everyone worries about hydrating your lips before bed, but if I know I’m going to be wearing a matte lipstick all day, I love hydrating and prepping my lips the night before, creating a smooth canvas that feels healthy and looks terrific. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is my absolute go-to every time. Little tip, if you’re keen to get your lipstick on quickly, use a mascara spoolie after you’ve applied your mask and slough off the dry skin.

STEP EIGHT

My final evening skincare step is using a lash serum. Latisse, Filorga and EyEnvy Lash Serum are three excellent products that help extend and restore life to your lashes. Lash serums are amazing to use if your lashes are damaged or if you just want a lash pick me up.

MORNING ROUTINE TIP – VITAMIN C

After I’ve cleansed and misted in the morning, not at night, I love to put on the Epik Vitamin C Serum from The Better Skin Company. Vitamin C boosts collagen production to help firm, plump and smooth your skin and also helps fight free radicals, leaving you with healthier, glowing and more youthful looking skin.
