Fancy Face’s March Makeup Favourites

Britt FeatureProducts & Tips

Fancy Face Founder, Brittany Gray, takes us through her collection of March Makeup Favourites.

Spring is upon us and I think it’s safe to say we’re all ready for fresh new looks. So, I’ve taken some time to curate my collection of March makeup favourites to share with you – and I’ve loved every minute of it!

I adore everything about skincare, and I firmly believe that if you treat your skin well, it can be the perfect canvas for great makeup. So let’s explore my top makeup and skincare brands and products for March.

Glossier Priming Moisturizer is so fantastic under makeup. It’s a very affordable moisturizer that is great for both the makeup connoisseurs and those just becoming familiar with their own preferences and styles! I also love combining the Glossier moisturizer with the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. I wear the lip mask at night as is directed, but you can also put it on before you apply your lipstick for added moisture and hydration. Just wipe off the excess after it has done its work, before you apply your lip colour. You can easily find it at Sephora.

Looking at primers and foundations, I’m a little bit in love with the Stila Soufflé Primer Perfecting Colors, both the primer and foundation. The products themselves are fantastic, but I must admit I absolutely love the stunning packaging. There is no hiding away these makeup jars. They have the grace of those vintage crystal perfume bottles. They’re awesome! I use the Sheer Illumination Primer, but they also carry a bronzing primer if you’d like more of that tanned, glowing look. The soufflé foundation I have is in number 4. They’re all very lightweight and give you a lovely dewy look.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer is an absolute must in your beauty arsenal if you like a concealer that offers strong and stellar coverage. Too Faced Born This Way Concealer is another of my favourites.

When it comes to eyeliners, I absolutely lean toward liners that have a bronzy tone that really works well to bring out the green colouring of my eyes. Nudestix has a fabulous Magnetic Eye Color in a gorgeous bronze toned liner that can also double as a shadow. Nudestix also has a gold tone that, when worn along the waterline of your eye, can really bring out your eye colour – a little trade secret for you! The two Magnetic Eye colours I’m currently using are Guilt, the gold colour, and Immortal, the bronze tone. The brand is Canadian and female run, so it speaks to me that much more. I love it!

Now let’s talk about your glow. I am a huge fan of that gorgeous glow, so I’m constantly on the lookout for products that give you that beautiful, dewy, lit-from-within skin. It is becoming a bit of a trend to use a cream or oil based product at the end of your makeup application to really add a luminous glow. Becca Glow Glaze Stick and the Milk Hydrating Oil stick. Milk’s is fantastic to use to add that bright sheen to your body or under your makeup if you find your skin is really dry. You can also use it as a highlighter after you’ve applied the rest of your makeup and powder to bring back that extra life to your skin. Becca’s can also be added to your skin after makeup application, just be sure to keep it focused on the tops of your cheekbones for the best results. It also has a bit of sheer illumination, whereas the Milk stick is more of an oil base without the extra pigment.

Another product I love is the NYX Micro Brow Pencil for your brows. That style of the Instagram Brow seems to be passing and what we are finding current and on trend is the fuller, brushed up brow. Not overdone, but still shapely and gorgeous. If you’re looking for a more affordable brow pencil that is comparable to Anastasia’s Brow Wiz, I’d highly recommend the NYX Micro Brow Pencil. It has a pointed tip that you can use to create those fine, hairlike strokes within the brow and an amazing spoolie on the end to brush the brow up and continue to create gorgeous structure along with the pencil.

I’m a big fan of bronzers, but one of my consistent go-to’s is the Marc Jacobs 102 Tantric. Great for medium to light skin tones (check out the coconut range for warmer skin tones!), this matte bronzer gives a lot of life to your skin without the added shine. Speaking of shine, Senna Divine Shine 01 is my absolute favourite! Highlighting works best if you’re hitting the right spots, so be sure to use it on the top of the cheekbone, not too low or too high near the eye, and a touch over the brow. Move down the nose and on the tip of the nose, give a tiny brush on the chin, and you will have the most stunning, dewy glow.

Lastly, let’s take a look at my go-to blush for March: Tarte Blush in Exposed. It’s a really great, neutral blush that looks good with any makeup. Pop some on the apples of your cheeks, work it up to the temples just a little, and give it a gentle glide down the nose.

There you have it, my March makeup favourites. If you have an questions or would like further recommendations, don’t hesitate to reach out!
