Brittany shares the love for her February beauty, fashion and lifestyle favourites!
Hello all of you beautiful people! I’m so happy to be back this month to bring you my February beauty, fashion and lifestyle favourites. These are all products that I’ve found over the Christmas holiday and into the new year. Get ready for a whole slew of beauty, fashion and lifestyle fabulousness! Check out my video so you know exactly what I’m talking about. Let’s go!
Recently my hubby bought me a gorgeous, white Vince Camuto Fuzzy Sweater that I adore. It’s warm and insanely cozy and you can snag your own at Nordstrom.
My lovely little hat number is from Etobicoke based designer Joël Joseph. I usually wear a camel coloured vintage hat that my mom got while she was in Australia – I get messages about it all of the time and I can never tell you where to get one! But now I have this super swanky Canadian made hat that you can buy and wear to your heart’s content. It’s beautifully made, though I must admit it’s a wee bit on the pricey side; I consider it a fashion investment piece and highly recommend it.
The fabulous custom made cross earrings I’m wearing are an item I asked for specifically, and my amazingly talented friend Tara Fava created them for me. Tara is an incredible jewelry designer and can make just about any item you could ever want. Why not have some jewelry made and designed especially for you?
I’m also currently obsessed with cheetah print hair accessories. To be quite honest, I’m sort of obsessed with cheetah print everything at the moment – tops, pants, shoes, underwear, you name it! You can wear these headbands with anything, pair them with a white tee and jeans and it’s a super cute amp up for your outfit. You can find some amazing options over at Cosabella Accessories, another Toronto-based entrepreneur that I love!
I was lucky enough to take a little family holiday over to Anna-Maria Island in Florida. It was such a wonderful break, but of course a vacation to the US isn’t complete without my trip to Ulta Beauty! This time around, I found Kopari Coconut Lip Glossy in Birthday Suit and it’s gorgeous. It’s super hydrating, vegan, all natural and Kopari is one of the clean product brands at Sephora.
I’m quite the fan of Rachel Zoe, she’s a designer in New York and has worked her way up the entrepreneurial ranks. She works with celebrities, founded Box of Style and is a super cool chick. She recently did an ad for Aquaphor, it’s a great multipurpose product that can create a sheen on the top of your cheekbones to look wonderfully dewy and it’s also awesome on the lips for dehydration, just an all round great drugstore brand level item.
I had to pick up the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer. I love it. It smells like the beach and coconut heaven, it’s an amazing tone, feels great on and it was also awarded a spot on the People’s Beauty Awards list for best bronzer. It’s amazing.
Natasha Denona’s All Neutral Eyeshadow Palette is magical. I’m a harsh palette critic, I know what I like and need in a palette and oftentimes for me, there is something missing. That being said, Natasha Denona can into the game and blew me away with this stunning neutral palette. There are so many beautiful, warm tones that will look good on literally every skin tone and every age, tones of matte colours, a lovely amount of shimmer colours and a few blends of shimmer and matte. But, take a beat…it’s $170…yeah…my mom just gasped behind the camera. This is definitely a beauty investment piece, so if you’re looking for a high quality shadow palette, this one is worth the splurge.
Real Techniques Brushes are super affordable, you can find them at Walmart, at Ulta Beauty or online. If you want really great foundation brushes and a fabulous blender – I will say it here and now, this blender is better than the Beauty Blender – this is the kit for you. I use them all the time on my clients and myself, I love them for contouring, for cream products, cream blushes and foundations. So. Good.
You’ve all heard about our Basic Boss Lash, right? If not, then you need to catch up, friends! Joking!! No I’m not…just love them, okay?! The Basic Boss Lash comes in adorable packing, they’re a natural hair lash and great for everyday styling. I like to double them up for an even fuller look, give it a try! These are my ultimate favourite when it comes to my everyday lash. If you really want to learn how to apply your lashes like a pro, check out my video that gives you the step by step guide to applying your lashes.
I was recently on CityLine and spoke about beauty products that can change your life. One of those products is pretty new to the market and I’m a bit obsessed, it’s Tata Harper’s Boosted Contouring Eye Balm. The eye balm is a pretty new beauty item to the market and I’m all about jumping in when it’s cutting edge! The packaging is also fully recyclable which is a bonus and it’s completely natural. Just scoop a little bit out with your 4th fingers (always the fourth fingers!), rub them together to heat it up and then circle the product gently around your eyes four times clockwise and four times counter clockwise, this is what Tata Harper recommends! You’ll end up with this radiant, hydrated look around your eyes, minus the caffeine that is in a lot of eye creams. We don’t want that dehydrating product, this bad boy keeps you hydrated and looking fabulous.
I’m a huge fan of the Too Faced Born This Way Foundations, I use them in my kit all of the time. I don’t think I’ve featured them in my favourites before and they absolutely deserve a mention. They’re great for oilier skin types, have a great colour range and are very hydrating and long lasting. Give it a shot if you’re looking for a new foundation.
I’ve also been using the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer, it’s full coverage but doesn’t feel as thick as say Tarte’s Shape Tape. That concealer is great for more glam looks, but Born This Way will give you that full coverage without it being quite so heavy.
I recently came across a book by my *fingers crossed one day* soul sister, Jenna Dewan. In her book Gracefully You, she takes us along with her on her journey with health, parenting, recipes and exercises that she loves and some of the things that motivate her – it’s so inspiring! I read through it in one sitting, I was absolutely hooked. She is also into crystals and spirituality so if that isn’t something you’re into, this book may not be your cup of tea. That being said, I absolutely loved it and I think she’s a pretty cool chick.
To wrap up my February Favourites, here’s a little excerpt from Gracefully You: “Honour yourself by lovingly and gracefully living your truth. Make decisions from an honest place, regarding everything from the food you eat to the way that you move your body. Choose to surround yourself with light and positivity, from the events you attend to the people you spend time with, to the books you read and so on. Continue to check in with yourself, with your mind and your body. It’s far better than doing countless reps with a dumbbell, any day.”
So that is my roundup of February beauty, fashion and lifestyle favourites, I absolutely love these products. If you’re keen to give them a try, I promise you they’re amazing. Let me know what you think! Happy shopping!
Til next time…x
