Brittany takes us through her amazing list of makeup products, goodies and inspiration in Brittany’s October Beauty Favourites.
Hello again! It’s that time of the month when I fill you in on all of the makeup, hair and beauty goodies that I’m currently coveting. Let’s dive into some October beauty favourites!
For everyday wear I’m always interested in finding a product that is light and easy to wear on my face. The newest foundation I’ve discovered is called Hide and Chic by Stila. I wear it in Medium 5. It’s a really sheer foundation that’s buildable, but makes your makeup look like skin…which is exactly what you want it to look like! Totally recommend.
Blush and Glow by Natasha Denona is currently on my love list. Generally, her products are on the expensive side and are considered pretty high end. But if you go for these little compact sizes the price ranges from about $19 to $45 and you get a lot of use out of the product. Not too shabby! I admit I’m more a fan of the blush than the highlighter in this duo pack. If you’re looking for a bright, fun blush, this is the one.
You all know I love me some bronzer! My go to these days is our Ballerina Bronzer by Fancy Face but if you really love those big bronzers, Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronzer in Tantalize is awesome if you’re going for that bronzed, tanned look. I’m also just a big fan of the lovely white packaging!
I love the glow! I’m always having to mattify on camera because I look too glowy, which is funny considering the fact that I actually have pretty dry skin! RMS’ Living Luminizer will give you that fresh from a facial glow. It’s a cream based product that you can just dip into and tap a little onto the top of your cheek bones. Your skin will just come alive!
Speaking of glow, I love a moisturizer that will give your skin that luminous look as well as providing much needed moisture. The Glam Glow Glowstarter is a priming moisturizer that has the glow in it so you can wear it on its own out to the gym, to the shops, or if you’re a mom who feels super tired and just needs a glowing lift!
In every makeup collection, you always have your absolute favourites. Ballet Slipper Lip Glaze was one that I really liked, but I wasn’t super crazy about it being my favourite in the whole collection. But it’s always a pleasant surprise when that special product creeps up on you…Ballet Slipper has kind of done that. Suddenly, I just love it! It looks amazing on its own, as a vacation lip gloss if you just want to toss on some gloss and go. But it’s also incredible for topping off any lip colour at all. It wakes up your entire lip and makes them look fuller and more luscious. Win!
I wore semi-permanent lash extensions for a little too long and it destroyed my lashes. They never grew back the same and it’s kind of devastating. I have done a couple of things to help and I want to share my tips with you. Lash Food Lash Serum is incredible. It has it’s eco certification, it’s organic and it gives you longer, fuller more fabulous lashes. The XXX Magnum Mascara by Stila is absolutely my favourite mascara of the moment. It makes your lashes look huge! I’m always looking for that new mascara that will blow me away, and this one totally has!
For all of you makeup artists out there, another product that I really love to use on my clients more so than myself is the Stick Foundation by Anastasia in Banana. It gives you that really bright under eye. It’s definitely for those clients who like that heavier, big, bright 10k glamorous under eye. It’s cream based and a bit drier in texture but you can really build it and make a great snatched under eye look.
We all know I love the Glitter and Glow by Stila. These new Stila eyeshadows that dry matte are called the Suede Shades and I’m obsessed with these colours! Nude Awakening and Sassy are simple, neutral and stunning.
My most favourite on my list of October beauty favourites is a cozy, beautiful sweater I’ve bought! It’s white with a leopard print pattern and whenever I wear it I get so many compliments. It’s easy to throw on, it washes really well and it’s definitely a recommendation for a lovely fall sweater!
These two books pretty much changed the game for me at the beginning of my career and created an awakening within myself to what I was capable of. The first book is called The Key by Dr. Joe Vitale. It’s all about finding out what you’re really meant to do in life. I’ve written notes all throughout this book, underlined it and basically went nuts on it. You should read it. Possibly my all time favourite book. The second book is called Release Your Brilliance by Simon T. Bailey. If you’re feeling lost and you really are on the search to find out who you are and who you’re meant to be in life, I’d absolutely recommend both of these books.
My quote this month is from Release Your Brilliance…
“People who believe bigger and better things are possible, attract bigger and better opportunities, situations and circumstances. These big carrot people make the impossible possible. People who refuse to settle for less and who push beyond their limits are the ones who are brilliantly successful.”
That’s my roundup of October favourites, I hope you’ve found a bit of inspiration and beauty! As always, hit me up with any questions or thoughts. I love hearing from you!
