Last week, Brittany had the honour of being featured on the amazing Toronto web news site Style Democracy! We were so thrilled to see her shine and share her story about how Fancy Face began and where her life has taken her.
The lovely Laina Goldstein connected with Brittany to discuss what it’s like to not only start your own business but be able to turn her passion into her dream job “so you never have to work a day in your life”…
Brittany shares how a typical day for her begins early and doesn’t stop. From waking up with her kiddos to early morning clients, phone meetings, face to face meetings, industry talks and events, it’s full steam ahead for this #bosslady and it doesn’t show any signs of stopping! And Brittany wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s known hard work from a young age and has been fortunate enough to earn a living doing the things she is passionate about, from performing to all things makeup and beauty related!
The article also explores some of the other ways that Brittany finds fulfillment. Giving back to those less fortunate is another major proponent of Brittany’s business model. She teams up with Canadian charity HopeTotes and helps create gift bags filled with everyday essentials for women in need all across Canada. She also works closely with SickKids which, as a mom, is near and dear to Brittany’s heart.
When asked by Laura what her advice was for anyone looking to get into makeup and beauty, Brittany’s reply was beautiful. And so true to our girl: “Work hard to hone your craft. Always strive to get better & to perfect your skill set. Find a niche that is authentic to you. Be a good person. Don’t burn bridges. Stay focused on where you’d like to see yourself in 5-10 years. Stay humble & kind.” We couldn’t have said it any better.
Not only one of the hardest working women out there, but a lady with a heart of gold, we’re so proud of Brittany and all that she’s accomplished!
